Round 4 Cricket wrap TGS v TSS

Dear Cricket Community,

After a week of uncertain weather, it was a tough round of Cricket against The Southport School. Playing against TSS means an extremely early start for those playing away, and after a 2 hour plus bus ride, it’s quite often difficult to switch over to Cricket mode. This proved a challenge as the majority of games played were won by the team playing at their home venue.

In Round 4, our senior school came up trumps against TSS, winning the day 11 matches to 9, which is a positive result against tough opposition. Well done, men.

Highlights of the round include a final ball, 2 run victory by our 2nd XI and a dominant 3-0 sweep by our Year 9 Cricket sides.

Noteworthy individual performances from Round 4 include the following:

Hamish Cameron (2nd XI) – 52 off 78

Liam McLiesh (2nd XI) – 4 for 30 off 8 overs

Charles Schoorl (11B) – 56 runs

Angus Slack-Smith (11B) – 58 not out

Sam Anderson (10A) – 52 off 45 balls

Clancy Black (9B) – 58 not out off 46 balls

Clancy Wright (8C) – 4 for 1 off 3 overs and 23 runs – Player of the round

Joe Sippel (7A) – 53 not out

This coming weekend we compete against Nudgee College with our 1st XI back at home.

I wish all Cricketers the best of luck.
