Cricket: Round 5 wrap v Nudgee College
Dear Cricket Community,
What a weekend! Saturday was a crazy day. The covers were on, the covers were off and contrary to the weather predictions, we had a full round of Cricket against our north Brisbane rivals, St Joseph’s College Nudgee. The TGS Cricket program performed brilliantly against Nudgee, and of our matches in the senior school, TGS were victorious in 16 out of 21. Congratulations to the TGS 1st XI who had a double bonus point victory over a star-studded and previously unbeaten Nudgee side.
It was also a day which saw several individual milestones achieved which is testament to the boys’ hard work at training over the past number of months. A special mention to Mitch Doolan and Daly Guest who share Player of the Round honours for their centuries in their respective matches. For all 4 wicket hauls and half centuries or better, see below:
Mitch Doolan (1st XI) – 109 off 104 balls – Player of the round
Hamish Cameron (2nd XI ) – 72 off 91 balls
Callum Murray (2nd XI) – 55 not out off 37 balls and 4 for 22 off 6 overs
Joe Slattery (4th XI) – 85 runs off 62 balls
George Wunsch (11A) – 87 off 103 balls
Daly Guest (10A) – 101 not out off 106 balls – Player of the round
Charlie Wigan (10B) – 21 and 3 for 2 off 4 overs
Chace Oates (8A) – 56 off 53 balls
Thisaja Samarawickrama (8A) – 29 not out 2 for 5 off 5 overs
Noah Taylor (8B) – 72 off 64 balls
Sam McGrath (8B) – 4 for 7 off 3 overs
Gautam Malhotra – 4 for 6 off 2 overs including a hat-trick.

I wish all boys the best of luck for our matches against BSHS. Given the smaller size of their program, it is important we look closely at our Round 6 draw (from Thursday) as we have a number of teams playing internal or supplementary fixtures.
For those coaches and families who have taken any publishable Cricket photos throughout the season, could you please send them to Cathy Keeton (email@example.com) so we can add them to the Cricket Photos section of the SAA website.
Yours in Cricket,
