Toowoomba Grammar School Army Cadet Unit (TGSACU) is a School-Based Unit of the Australian Army Cadets (AAC).
There are lots of reasons to join Cadets. For a start, you get to “Go Bush” (camping) and learn to survive, you get to wear the Camouflage uniform, you learn about leadership and mateship and, you learn to properly handle firearms in a safe environment.
Apart from getting involved in all kinds of action and adventures conducted in a military setting, you’ll also make new friends. Cadets not only learn in the classroom but get out and put the theory they learn into practice. Lessons include leadership, first aid, radio operations, navigation, engineering and marksmanship with the opportunity to participate in parades, Honour Guards and catafalque parties at official Commemorative Services around the district.
As a cadet, you’ll learn to be confident, self-sufficient and willing to ‘have a go’. It’s your opportunity to discover new challenges and have some unbelievable fun.
The Toowoomba Grammar School Army Cadet Unit accepts any boys who are turning 13 years of age in the year you join. However, if you are super interested in joining in 2021 please come and see us under Roberts Building and we can discuss alternatives.
Still not convinced? Come along and try for yourself at our Recruit Muster on Friday 12 February 2021. All the details can be found here: Recruiting Poster 2021
